Proud Place Therapy recognises the challenges that come with being a parent, guardian or carer and acknowledges that nobody has all the answers.

 

I can provide counselling support that aims to offer clarity, guidance, and skill development to assist you in effectively supporting the overall well-being and mental health of the young person.

Proud Place Therapy can help you:

  • Acquire knowledge and skills to cope effectively for both yourself and the young person you support.

  • Work through LGBTQIA+-related conflicts with your own belief systems.

  • Gain a better understanding of LGBTQIA+ identities.

  • Gain an understanding of the importance of LGBTQIA+ affirming behaviours and concrete examples of how to support and affirm LGBTQIA+ youth in their homes.

  • Practice using LGBTQIA+-inclusive language and build skills for talking about sexual orientation, gender identity and expression comfortably.

  • Learn how to identify and manage crises with the young person you are supporting.
